Rebel Lion Advertising has partnered with Glamorgan Cricket on several successful campaigns, helping to drive awareness and attendance for major fixtures at Sophia Gardens. Most recently, we were tasked with promoting two highly anticipated international matches:

  • England v West Indies 
  • England v South Africa 

With these prestigious events returning to the Welsh capital for the first time in 3 & 6 years, our goal was to ensure maximum visibility and engagement across key audiences. Through a data-driven media planning and buying strategy, we crafted a multi-channel campaign designed to reach cricket fans, families, and casual spectators within a 1-hour drive of Cardiff.

To ensure widespread reach and engagement, we deployed a multi-channel advertising strategy incorporating both digital and traditional media:

  • Digital Ads – Highly targeted digital campaigns designed to reach cricket fans, families, and sports enthusiasts.

  • Television Ad – 30″ commercials aired via Sky AdSmart, ensuring precise audience targeting within a one-hour drive of Glamorgan Cricket.

  • Radio Ad – 30″ adverts served across DAX (Global Digital Audio Exchange), targeting key audiences via DAB, mobile, desktop, tablet, and smart speakers.

  • Out-of-Home (OOH) D48 Sheets – Large-format roadside billboards placed in high-footfall areas.

  • MIXR Screens – Vertical TV placements in pubs, engaging fans in relevant environments.

AUDIENCE TARGETING & SEGMENTATION .

Our campaign was built on detailed audience segmentation and targeting to ensure messaging reached the most relevant potential attendees. Using data insights from Experian, we focused on key demographics such as families, sports enthusiasts, and casual cricket fans, as well as geo-targeting individuals within a one-hour drive of Cardiff. This approach allowed us to tailor messaging and creative assets effectively across all platforms, ensuring higher engagement and conversion rates.
