Unprecedented Growth and Six-Figure Investment
This year, we secured a six-figure investment from the Development Bank of Wales. This strategic funding fuelled our growth plans and helped to facilitate an impressive 300% increase in revenue – allowing us to reach a seven-figure turnover in our second year of trading.
We expanded across the UK and internationally, establishing new offices in London, Manchester, and New York. We’ve cemented ourselves in key creative hubs, enabling us to connect with a broader range of clients and deliver impactful campaigns on a global scale.
Growth isn’t just about locations, though — it’s about the people driving the vision forward. In 2024, we welcomed 13 talented new starters to our team, each bringing fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and the expertise needed to challenge the norm and achieve exceptional results.
This year, we introduced four innovative divisions to further expand our capabilities:
- Islandr: Empowering start-up and challenger brands with bold creative, premium production, and sustainable media buying.
- The Resistance Agency: Built by Gen Z, for Gen Z. They don’t just understand the audience — they are the audience.
- Augmented Reality: Pioneering immersive experiences that transform the way brands engage with their audiences.
- Resistance Academy: A trailblazing initiative providing an alternative pathway into the creative industry. The Academy focuses on real-world experience for aspiring talent in South Wales, nurturing the next generation of creatives.
We also became an official HubSpot Solutions Partner, adding another powerful capability to our toolkit.
Awards and Recognition
We believe our greatest strength is our people. This belief was recognised with the award of the prestigious People First Promise Badge by the IPA (Institute of Practitioners in Advertising). This honour reflects our dedication to creating a workplace where individuals are empowered, supported, and nurtured, with well-being and professional growth at the core of our culture.
Our Founder and CEO, Matt Jones, was named Equity-Backed Entrepreneur of the Year at the prestigious Great British Entrepreneur Awards, a testament to his leadership and vision in building a pioneering agency. His influence on the industry was further recognised when he was named one of the 2024 Top 100 Influential People.

Rebel Lion also earned recognition at the Hustle Awards, where we were finalists for Founder of the Year, acknowledging Matt’s strategic impact, and Top Performing Team, a reflection of the outstanding results delivered through our collective effort. Additionally, we were shortlisted for Marketing, Advertising & PR StartUp of the Year at the Wales Regional UK StartUp Awards.

Norton Motorcycles: A transformative campaign that more than doubled online orders in less than six months.
The Football Association of Wales: We celebrated Welsh football and made headlines for our work on the JD Welsh Cup & Bute Energy Finals in Newport.

We launched The Rebel Lion Podcast with a roar, hitting the #20 spot on the Apple Podcast Charts in the Business category with our debut episode—a bold start that set the tone for what was to come. By the end of the year, we ranked in the top 50% of all Buzzsprout podcasts, solidifying our place as a trusted voice in the industry.
Listeners tuned in from around the globe, with a strong audience across the UK, US, and Australia. Our content struck a chord with professionals, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders alike. Tackling conversations that mattered—on leadership, entrepreneurship, and the realities of building a business—the podcast quickly became a destination for real-life insights and no-nonsense discussions.
